Castellers

Castellers BarcelonaCastellers are one of the greatest and most impressive Catalan traditions. A Castell (castle) consists of a human tower which can have up to ten levels high.

Castells are built during local festivals where competitions between groups (colles) take place in order to build the most impressive castell. In order to be successful they have to be assembled and dismantled.

Sant Jordi
